Why Kids Do What They Do

The basic principles of social learning theory are presented as they apply to everyday situations in the home. Emphasis is placed on how children's behaviors are learned and how they can be changed. Positive reinforcement, satiation, knowledge vs. internalization, response cost, and generalization/discrimination are taught. Parents have an opportunity to utilize the functional analysis to discover why certain chronic issues plaque their home.
