Positive Parenting was established in 1991 to assist parents in developing the heightened skills necessary to manage today's daily challenges that face both parent and child. The sessions address such issues as: how to end yelling, effective disciplining, relationship building skills, quality teaching techniques, setting goals for self and child, achieving compliance, and quality modeling skills. Time is allotted for questions that are specific to each parent's need. Each session incorporates role-playing, handouts and classroom instruction as its learning tools. The sessions also embody humor and a relaxed atmosphere in order to enhance the retention of information.

"Parenting...The Instruction Manual Your Child Should Have Come With"

What Does NYU Say:

“Parenting…The Instruction Manual Your Child Should Have Come With” is a well organized and well written set of tools for becoming the kind of parent that a child will love, respect and enjoy being with. It is a pragmatic integration of guidelines based upon three prominent psychological approaches: behavioral, cognitive and imitation learning. Every parent can become a better parent by following the guidelines offered by Palermo and Shragin.
